Seattle at Night

For my birthday we ventured out to try a new 20mm lens and I think this turned out pretty well for my first try at a night cityscape! You can see the Space Needle, the Columbia Tower and further down out of the shot, Centurylink Field and Safeco! Every minute or so a plane flew overhead and of course the ferries were busy at work. The Seattle skyline is irresistible during both day and night.

Can you have a better representation of a summer garden? By sharing this dahlia I’ve watched grow in my yard I hope I am sharing the happiness I felt when it finally bloomed! 

The dahlia is the official flower of Seattle – “Ordinance 32137, approved November 19, 1913, established the dahlia as the City’s official flower and requested that the Park Board of the City plant and cultivate the flower in suitable quantities to make effective displays in the City parks.”
