Kaupō Beach Park is a surfers dream! On the advice of a friend (and some borrowed surf boards) we made our way here to check it out. What a beautiful beach!
In the distance is Rabbit Island, also known as Mānana Island. Rabbits were introduced to the island in the 1800’s but were later eradicated to preserve the local ecosystem.
The smaller island to the right is named Kaohika’ipu (also known as Black Rock).
Rabbit Island and Black Rock are now State Seabird Sanctuary’s and require a permit to visit.
