Of course I had to take at least one photo of the many visitors to my bird feeder during the snow and ice storm of 2021. This male dark-eyed junco was the most willing subject. I suspect he was playing lookout.
During our trip to Sydney, Australia we took a tour with Anderson’s Tours (whom I highly recommend). On our way back from the Blue Mountains we stopped at Featherdale Wildlife Park where we were able to see and touch some amazing Australian animals! This koala was jumping from tree to tree and ended munching his eucalyptus leaves without a care in the world. I really love his darker coloring!
While hiking the Skyline Trail in Mount Rainier National Park we came across multiple chipmunks! This little guy was a bit off the trail, just enough so I could get a good photo with my zoom lens and he wouldn’t dart away. I don’t like feeding wildlife for the sake of getting a photo, yet these little chipmunks were still willing to hang around and watch us as we walked by. They were so cute as they darted across the top of the snow!
I’ve titled this photo “Attitude” which can be plainly seen from this marmot in Mount Rainier National Park. On our way back to Paradise along the Skyline Trail this marmot decided to see what we were about. He approached us, and jumped onto this stone bench and appeared to size us up. When we didn’t offer him any food he simply continued to sit and pose for us. I relied on my zoom and kept my distance just in case. He stayed there even as we walked away.
I just love the Point Defiance Zoo, there are so many animals here that look happy and healthy. This beautiful snake was all ready for his close up but I had to angle my lens just right to avoid the glare from the glass.
